Henri Francois Breaux was born on June 4th at 1:23pm. I went into labor the night before around 10 pm. JP and I started timing the contractions to make sure it was the real thing and they got closer and closer together. I tried to sleep for a little bit but eventually woke up around 1:00 am. We called the hospital and luckily my doctor was there. She told us to wait as long as we could and when it was intolerable to come in. We held out till 3:30 am and then made our way to UMASS. At about 4 am I called my mom and my brother Rob drove her to the hospital to meet us. Contractions weren't as bad as I had expected and I am proud to say I made it to 6 cm dilated before I got the epidural. Pushing on the other hand was VERY difficult. Henri was too big and the cord was wrapped around his neck. There were a ton of doctor's in the room monitoring the situation. I almost had to have a c-section, but eventually Henri made his way into the world naturally. Finally, at 1:23 pm Henri was born. My mom and JP were there with me the whole time :-)
Wow - I can't believe you made it to 6 cm dilation before the epidural!! That's so awesome. I'm glad he was natural birth as well. And he's so beautiful: just like his mommy and daddy.
ReplyDeleteThank you for trying for June 3rd - that was very thoughtful of you!
