Oh Baby, Oh Baby

We are pregnant, HOORAY!!  To all (I'd like to think there is more than one) my blog readers...I am officially back :-)  My initial plan in keeping this blog was to keep track of Henri's first year of life.  I successfully did that and took a short hiatus over the summer.  Now that we are on to baby number 2 it is only fair that this child also have the same record of his/her first year.  So, I am committing myself to maintain this blog for the remainder of my pregnancy up until he/she turns 1.

Where to begin....this summer was FANTASTIC!!  It was so great to be home with Henri.  We spent many days at Davis Farm Land as well as at the camp in Sturbridge.  Henri is a water baby for sure, he loved swimming in the lake and making sand castles in the sand.  We also had plenty of play dates with all his little friends, Chloe, Lucy, Mya & Claire, Mikey & Alessandra.  It was truly a fun-filled summer.

The most difficult part of our summer was late August. I had to have minor surgery on my foot which kept me in crutches for a week (it was supposed to be a week, I think I lasted 2 days) and a hard boot for eight weeks.  Keeping track of Henri while hobbling around was quite the challenge, but we made it through.

Fast forward to September and we are pregnant!!!  We had decided that we didn't want Henri to grow up as an only child so we started trying for another baby in June.  Once school started I was beginning to think we should wait till the following summer to try again and then we found out we were expecting.  This pregnancy has been much different than it was when I was pregnant with Henri.  Right from the start I have been very nauseous for most of every day.  I get really bad headaches and am totally exhausted.  I am entering week 15 and am still suffering from these symptoms...hopefully they will subside soon!!  I have already had my first ultrasound and will meet with my doctor this Friday to make sure everything is looking good.

HENRI - Henri is amazing.  He is learning so fast and talking so much.  He repeats almost everything we say and is able to communicate some of his needs to us.  He is becoming a much better sleeper, with minor set backs here and there.  Henri has excellent gross motor ability.  He rides around on his radio flyer like a pro and has even attempted pedaling his big boy bike all by himself.  His favorite foods include, bananas, gold fish, chicken, beef, pasta with red sauce and pudding.  I wish he were a better eater, but it could be worse.   We recently celebrated Halloween and Henri was an adorable bumblebee.  I will attach some pictures.  Henri is also taking a weekly music class where he has an opportunity to dance, sing, and explore with different instruments.  There is never a dull moment in our lives....we are looking forward to Thanksgiving next week.  I will have two days off of work to relax with my sweet babe!!
