The Breaux Family: Maki and family come for a visit!!

My dearest friend, Maki FINALLY brought her family to the US for a visit. Maki and I first met in college at Bridgewater State. We were both enrolled in a cultural anthropology class with a bunch of weirdos. We joined together for a group project and have been fast friends ever since. Our friendship has spanned the last 13 years. We were room mates, traveled to her homeland of Japan together and recently in 2007 I visited her home in France to meet her son Mae for the first time. Since our last visit, I have given birth to Henri and Adrien and she has added a new addition to her family, Ael. Her boys are now 4 and 5 and Henri is 2 and AJ just a newborn.

I was beyond excited when Maki emailed me in the spring to tell me that she and her family were coming to the states in July for a vacation!! Her plan was to spend 4 or 5 days in Worcester and then travel to visit friends in Boston as well as take her family to the cape and up to Canada.

Our visit was SOO much fun. Unfortunately, JP was working most of the week, however that didn't stop me from planning out fun things for us to do. Among our excursions were a trip to Davis Farmland, Rota Springs Ice Cream, two visits to the lake to swim and visit with my mom, and of course lunch at Howards one day. We also had great dinners together each night....including a lobster feast!

Their short stay went by quickly and I was sad to see them leave. I am hoping that I can one day take my family to France to visit with them. Henri had such a nice time with visitors in the house. It was a little awkward not being able to communicate with Mae and Ael, but we seemed to manage. Little Adrien was a very good baby with very little fussing and sleeping great each night.

We all had a great time and hope they come to the States more often!!
