There are certain catch phrases that I say to Henri on a daily basis. One of them is "I love the baby and the baby loves the mommy." Occasionally, there will be variations such as, "I love the baby and the baby loves the mommy and we both love the daddy" or "I love the baby and the daddy and the baby and the daddy love the mommy." Henri seems to understand this and always smiles with glee when I say this to him. I wonder if one day he will say to me, "the baby loves the mommy and the mommy loves the baby."
From the time Henri was a newborn I have been calling him "Squeaker." The nickname came from my friend Caroline. She was visiting shortly after Henri was born and he was making squeaky noises. She called him a little squeaker and the nickname stuck. Everyday, when I walk into the room or greet Henri when he wakes from a nap I always say, "Hello, squeaky baby." He always responds with a HUGE smile. I say this so much that I am worried that he will think his name is "squeaky baby."
I was wondering where "squeaker" came from. It's weird because Mark calls our cat squeaker ... strange! :•)
