Christmas Happenings

Henri's first Christmas was very memorable. So much fun, I don't know where to begin. On Christmas Eve I laid Henri down in his crib so that I could get dressed and ready to go visiting family. When I returned to the nursery, there was my sweet little boy completely sitting up with his head well above the rail..... I was in shock. Henri had just learned how to sit up on his own not so long ago, so you can imagine my surprise when I saw him sitting up. I praised him and he cooed and smiled. I laid him back down to finish getting ready only to find him sitting up again when I returned :-)

We spent Christmas Eve visiting with my grandparents my mom and lastly I took Henri to my in-laws for a fabulous meal. JP met us there after he got out of work. The most memorable part of our evening was the 10:30 mass at our church. JP and I agreed to be the holy family for the evening service. Towards the end of mass we dressed up like The Virgin Mother, Joseph and of course Henri was little baby Jesus. We walked down the aisle at the appropriate time and when we reached the alter turned around and held up little baby Jesus....Henri flapped his arm about and smiled and giggled for all to see.....it was precious:-) My mom and dad both were there as well as Henri's godparents and some of my friends....I made sure to get some pictures to capture the moment!

On Christmas day I had my family (brothers, mom and dad) for a delicious dinner. I cooked my very first turkey and I have to say it was quite good. My mom came over early to help out with everything else. After dinner we opened presents. Henri was in absolute heaven, smiling and ripping through presents one after the other. He was such a good baby all day. My dad showed up after dinner for dessert and more presents :-) It was a fantastic day!
