Daddy's New Toy

This past weekend was very productive. I am proud to say that I have ALL of my Christmas shopping finished and all presents are wrapped and ready to go. JP had the evening off on Friday so I was able to go out for a relaxing dinner with my friend Heather and then off to shop. On Saturday I bundled Henri up and my mom and I went out for another fun filled day of shopping. Henri was so well behaved. While shopping I noticed that little Henri's feet completely hang over the edge of his car seat so it is about time to get him a new one :-( I tried to run all of my errands on Saturday because a storm was approaching....

My husband loves a winter storm.....ever since we moved into our house he has been talking about getting a snow blower. I grew up in a house where we got out there and shoveled the driveway ourselves. It was an ongoing battle -me against and JP for a snow blower- until recently. When my in laws downsized from a house to an apartment they offered us their snow blower, along with many other household treasures! From the time that snow blower arrived to our house my husband has tuned and oiled and polished and even bought shiny red spray paint to spruce it up a bit. So when the news of a storm hit I knew JP would be waiting with peeked anticipation. Saturday night JP checked the weather (100 times) to hear what the snow fall predictions would be. He parked the cars ever so carefully so that he would be able to easily maneuver the snow blower out of the garage......and then we waited.

The storm did not disappoint. We awoke to several inches of fluffy white snow that continued to fall well into the morning. At about noon JP could stand it no longer and so he bundled himself up and headed out into the storm. Henri and I watched from the window as daddy cleared the driveway, the walk, and the sidewalk in front of the house. Thinking he was finished I started to get lunch ready. After 15 minutes I looked out the window again to check and there was my husband actually snow blowing the street in front of our house :-) I grabbed the video camera and taped him clearing off the road with a smile on his face....too precious. When he finally came in I had the camera pointed at his face (normally this would annoy him). He ignored the camera and went on to tell me how fantastic the blower is. It was great to see him so happy. Thanks to my in-laws for such a fabulous hand-me-down!!!

  1. Too funny! Glad he is enjoying his new toy. My husband isn't enjoying the shovel too much. He obviously needs to get our snowblower fixed then hopefully he can have fun like JP! Have a great Christmas. I can't wait to see the blog revamped!!
